Management changes at Volkswagen Bank: Harald Heßke leaves the management board for Spain, Oliver Roes moves up as Chief Representative
 

Braunschweig, 30.09.2020. Personnel changes are taking place at Volkswagen Bank GmbH: Harald Heßke (57) is leaving the management board of the Volkswagen subsidiary in Braunschweig on 1 October 2020 and is moving to Spain. In Madrid he will take over management of Volkswagen Renting S.A., a company that belongs to Volkswagen Financial Services AG. Heßke's successor will be Oliver Roes (50), who is joining the management of Volkswagen Bank GmbH initially in his capacity as Chief Representative.
Harald Heßke joined the Volkswagen Group in 1990 and moved to Volkswagen Financial Services in 1991. There, he held different management positions in various countries, including the post of Managing Director Finance and Administration in Spain and Mexico. In Germany, Heßke was responsible for controlling until 2014 before becoming Country Manager Back Office of Volkswagen Bank in France until the end of January 2016. In February 2016, Heßke then joined the Management Board of Volkswagen Bank, initially in a dual function along with his position on the Management Board of Volkswagen Leasing GmbH. As a member of the Management Board of Volkswagen Bank GmbH, Heßke was most recently responsible for Controlling, Accounting, Payments and Group Treasury & Investor Relations.

Mr. Heßke is married and has two children. He studied business administration at the Justus Liebig University in Gießen and graduated as Diplom-Kaufmann.

Oliver Roes began his professional career in risk management at Volkswagen Bank in 2000. Between his positions at Volkswagen Finans Sverige AB in Södertälje, Sweden (2006 – 2008) and at Volkswagen Financial Services in Puebla, Mexico (2011 – 2014), Roes worked as assistant to the CFO of Volkswagen Financial Services AG and was in charge of controlling at Volkswagen Bank GmbH. Since October 2014, Roes has been responsible for the corporate financial controlling of Volkswagen Financial Services AG as Head of Controlling, reporting directly to the Management Board.

Born in Wolfsburg, Roes trained as a construction mechanic and graduated in mathematics at the Technical University of Braunschweig. He is married and has two children.

With effect from 01.10.2020, the Management Board of Volkswagen Bank GmbH will comprise Dr. Michael Reinhart (Chairman), Dr. Volker Stadler and Christian Löbke. Oliver Roes has already augmented the management board as Chief Representative since 01.07.2020.
