Volkswagen Versicherungsdienst

The insurance company Volkswagen-Versicherungsdienst GmbH was founded in 1948 and has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Volkswagen Financial Services AG since 1999. It operates the entire motor vehicle insurance business as an insurance broker. The activities chiefly focus on the provision of insurance policies with the associated Europe Claims Service through the Volkswagen Group dealers.

The Volkswagen-Versicherungsdienst GmbH is the largest mediator of automobile insurance in Germany. In those European countries where Volkswagen-Versicherungsdienst is not present with its own companies, the insurance business is carried out through subsidiaries or branches of Volkswagen Financial Services AG.

The insurance activities complement the portfolio of financial services for every aspect of the car. Through the bundling of know-how in the areas of insurance, leasing and financing, on the one hand, and the close links with the Volkswagen Group, on the other hand, competitively superior products and conditions can be offered and new customer segments can be opened up.

Apart from personal liability insurance, partially and fully comprehensive cover, the products for private customers also include forms of insurance that the customer can choose according to his or her own needs, such as travel insurance, damage protection abroad and legal insurance for traffic infractions. In addition, Volkswagen-Versicherungsdienst also offers product packages such as Prämie light, a combination of vehicle financing or leasing with vehicle insurance. Prämie light Plus contains a follow-up guarantee insurance in addition to vehicle financing and insurance.
