Volkswagen Bank GmbH opens up branch in Greece

In cooperation with Kosmocar, the main national distributor for the VW and Audi brands in Greece, motor vehicle financing and insurance products will initially be offered through the branch. The new branch is starting out with 20 employees.

Through the network of Kosmocar dealers, the Greek customers will first be offered the AutoCredit three-option financing, classic instalment credit, and vehicle insurance cover. The Volkswagen financial service providers have thus extended their one-stop shopping strategy - providing the customer with all auto financial service products directly at the point-of-sale - to include the Greek market as well. Additional insurance products, from accident cover to fire and theft protection, are being offered by Volkswagen Bank along with the financing. Further products and services are being planned.

The extension of the branch network in Europe is the basis of the expansion strategy pursued by Volkswagen Bank GmbH. Taking advantage of the so-called European Passport, which entitles a company to set up a branch or subsidiary in another EU country, the Braunschweig-based company is now represented with its own branches in eight EU countries.

Volkswagen Bank GmbH, a subsidiary of Volkswagen Financial Services AG founded in 1949, is Europe's leading automobile bank with total assets of 16.2 billion euros as at 31.12.2003 and a current level of around 1.31 million customer finance contracts. The products offered by the Braunschweig-based company range from the financing and insurance of new and used Volkswagen Group vehicles over direct banking to dealer financing.
