After the initial training period, we help you advance in accordance with your strengths and offer long-term, individualised qualification programmes both on and off the job.

Build up your personal profile and work with us to tailor your own personal development plan. You are responsible for your own success right from the start. At least once a year, you'll meet with your supervisor to discuss the current requirements in your area, set professional goals and determine the necessary actions to achieve them. In addition, your personal development potential will be the focus of annual staff planning and development meetings.

Expand your specialised/general expertise: Have you and your supervisor agreed on a plan to expand your expertise or improve an interdisciplinary skill?

We offer a broad range of continuing education opportunities, including high-level training seminars taught by in-house staff or external experts, e-learning classes in our own Self-Learning Centre as well as on-the-job training in your department. From soft skills and system training to specialised topics, we offer the right support for every need.

Increase your cross-cultural experience/language skills: Are you in contact with international colleagues or clients and want to increase your intercultural experience and language skills?

Attend one of our specialised language courses or take advantage of a job assignment at one of our international subsidiaries. In addition, top-performing former apprentices or students in cooperative education programmes are given the chance to spend about a year abroad ("journeyman years"). All long-term expatriate staff are supported by a mentor who ensures a continuous connection to the home company and helps returning staff reintegrate into their home country.

Acquire cross-functional skills: Would knowledge of a different functional area and its interfaces to your department be an advantage in your current or future job?

We value this kind of forward-thinking approach to professional development. You can gain initial insight by partaking in information sessions in different departments or through targeted, longer-term job rotation in another functional area.

Specialist or leadership career support: Do you have the potential to become a specialist or a leader within our company? We promote both specialised and general expertise with an eye towards responsible leadership and management development. For specialists, we offer a career development programme consisting of subject-specific modules that build on each other based on the different requirement levels. Those with an interest in and the potential for a leadership career can take part in our systematic junior management and leadership development programmes.
