Should you start an apprenticeship programme or attend college? Or perhaps combine both?
Deciding what to do after graduation is not always easy. Your decision should be well thought-out and reflect your personal interests, abilities and knowledge.
VWFSAG gives you the option of selecting from three different apprenticeship occupations, all of which offer variety and the opportunity to work independently. Our cooperative education programme even lets you combine occupational training with an academic education.

Banker
Do you enjoy working with people? Are you interested in marketing and communications? Or can you just as easily see yourself behind the scenes planning, managing and organising? Then why not start your career as a Banking apprentice? From financing to leasing to direct banking – at Volkswagen Financial Services, you'll learn all the aspects of a full-service bank. You'll rotate through our various departments, working on your computer as well as on the phone. And with a position in the AutoStadt, the FinanzCenter Braunschweig or the Autohaus, you'll have a direct line to our clients. Come show us what you can do – we look forward to working with you!

Insurance and Finance Professional
Are you interested in the insurance business? Want to learn how to handle damage claims, sell a variety of insurance products, open and process personal and property insurance policies and acquire and support private and business customers? Then the Insurance and Finance Professional apprenticeship programme is right for you. You'll gain first-hand experience in settling claims and drafting damage assessments. In addition to vehicle insurance, you'll learn about all the other types of insurance, gain exciting insight into the work done by our field reps and learn how to win new clients and support existing ones.
■ Apprenticeship duration: 2.5 years
■ Assignments in various departments
■ Assignments in financial centres across Germany
■ Foreign assignment at our subsidiary in Poland (Warsaw)
■ Seminars and workshops
■ Occupational coursework and intercompany instruction in Hannover
■ 5 occupational coursework blocks comprising 33 hours per week
IT Specialist in Application Development
As an up-and-coming IT specialist, in addition to the operational processes of Volkswagen Financial Services AG, you'll recommend software solutions for the company and develop them from concept through implementation. Of course, you'll have the entire arsenal of information and communication technologies of Volkswagen Financial Services AG, including our multimedia applications, at your disposal. You'll also gain exciting insight into the areas of: installation and maintenance of complex systems, client support, user training, and testing procedures.
■ Apprenticeship duration: 3 years

■ Occupational coursework at the Otto Bennemann School in Braunschweig

The most important points in a nutshell for all training courses described:
- Beginning of training: August of each year
- Qualifications required: at least the 'extended Lower School Leaving Certificate' (German "erweiterter Sekundarschulabschluss I")
- Duration of training: 2 or 2½ years (depending on previous education), 3 years for IT specialists
- Application deadline: approx. 15 months before start of training, but not later than 31 July of the previous year
- Application documents: letter of application, CV in tabular form, copies of the last two school reports, photograph
- Selection procedure: Shortlisting on the basis of the application documents (no applications accepted from persons who have already undergone vocational training), aptitude test, interviews and group discussions
